Mission

I research
embodying complex behaviors,
such as autonomy,
in soft mechano-fluidic robots,
beyond electronics and software.


Through mechanical and fluidic nonlinearities, I build
soft robots that are smart because of
their body and their physical interaction with the world,
more analogous to
natural systems than to computers.

Complex behaviors in simple systems,
for democratic and widespread adoption
of robots and devices.
